Practice until you're fluent, then make your pitch

MOCVIEW is free for students. Record a Virtual PROXIEE (VPx) of up to 60 seconds, practice talking about yourself until you're fluent, then put it in front of the persons who decide: recruiters at a career fair, internship and graduate programs, admissions offices, and your own network on LinkedIn.

Good, gets even better

Six things you already do, and what MOCVIEW adds to each.

Good

Your VPx is the finished product.

Feedback before it counts

Before it counts, send it to a career counselor or mentor and get their feedback, moment by moment.

Share a draft for review by email; your reviewer doesn't need the app first. They react at moments in the video and leave a comment at each one, and the review is open for 48 hours. You can also run a practice interview, with questions on screen in one continuous take of up to 15 minutes, and ask for feedback on it, or practice live with persons you invite.

Example: a career counselor's review of a student's draft VPx, with a comment at three moments in the video
Review by Ms. AlvarezCareer counselor

  3. at 0:52Good close. Look at the camera, not the screen.

Scanned at the career fair

At a career fair, the recruiter scans your QR code. No printed copy needed, so you never run out, and a chance meeting in a hallway is never "send it to me when you get home." Fewer printed copies, too.

Your QR code is in your VPx's share sheet on your phone. The recruiter scans it with their phone camera, and it opens in their browser, or in the app if they have it. For a career fair, set your VPx to Restricted or Public.

Example: a student's phone shows the QR code from the VPx share sheet; the recruiter's phone opens the VPx in the browser, with the video playing and the documents locked until access is granted.
Public
The video and your documents, no sign-in.
Restricted
The video. Documents are listed by name and locked; the recruiter can ask for access, and you're prompted.
Private
Only persons you shared it with by email, signed in with that email.
Good

Sending your resume out.

One link, always the latest

Fix a typo or add a new job, award or credential, and everyone who has your link sees the new version. You never have to recall the old copies.

On your live VPx, choose Add or replace documents. Your link stays the same, and at least one document is always kept.

Example: Add or replace documents on a live VPx. The resume has been replaced and an award added; the link is unchanged.
Good

Recording a VPx on a topic you care about.

Network around your topic

Post it to LinkedIn and build a network and a community around it.

Pick a topic for your VPx; VPx on the same topic are grouped together. If your VPx is set to Public, you can share it as a LinkedIn post, or even add it to your LinkedIn profile in your Featured section. The choice is yours, as MOCVIEW never independently posts your VPx.

Example: a Public VPx with a topic, and the buttons Share to LinkedIn and Add it to your LinkedIn profile.
Good

Sharing your VPx.

When you want, how you want

Share it when you want, how you want (Private, Restricted or Public), or take it offline.

You see who opened it, and you're told if someone screenshots or screen-records a private VPx or a document in the app. Move to Drafts takes it offline at once and ends every link and QR code you've shared. When it goes live again, you share a new link.

Example: a Private VPx. The student sees 2 persons who opened it and a screenshot alert, and can choose Move to Drafts.
Good

An essay for a test-optional school.

Your essay, with you beside it

A VPx with a short introduction video, your admissions essay, and other writing and work samples beside it.

Choose the category Introduction. Your video runs up to 60 seconds, and your essay, writing and work samples go beside it as PDFs or images (save Word files as PDF first). Where a program accepts links or extra material, share your VPx Privately with the admissions office's email. The office signs in on the web with a 6-digit code and sees everything.

Example: an Introduction VPx with an admissions essay, a writing sample and a portfolio image, shared Privately with an admissions office, which signs in with a 6-digit code.

Recorded live, and you can prove it

Every VPx is recorded live in the MOCVIEW app. It's never uploaded and never generated, and it carries the seal: "Verified: recorded live in the MOCVIEW app." When you apply somewhere that worries about AI-written work, your own voice, recorded live, sits beside what you wrote.

Under 18? Here's how it works

You need to be 14 or older to have an account. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and you use MOCVIEW through your school.
